Part of a pair of ancient granite cottages, built from traditional local stone and being at least 200 years old, set in the heart of the peaceful hamlet of Locrio near the village of Guern. Both cottages are recently renovated and provide comfortable accommodation with lots of character. They are well furnished with old Breton and traditional modern furniture. On the ground floor is an open-plan living/kitchen area with a massive granite fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Plenty of kitchen equipment is provided. There is a dining table with chairs and a settee and armchairs.

The property is semi-detached and is the sister property to the one above. Downstairs is a kitchen corner and a living/dining room with a wood-burning stove. click on picture to enlarge The kitchen is well-equipped. There is a family dining table and a settee and armchairs. Upstairs is a shower room and toilet ,double bedroom and a bedroom with bunk-beds.
Surrounding the cottages on three sides is a large communal garden. There is also a large walled and laurel-hedged area of grass with a gate where children can play safely. Garden furniture is provided for each cottage and there is a solid fuel barbecue. There is a shared washing-machine and freezer. A cot and high-chair are available. All beds have standard double or single duvets and two pillows per person. Please note linen is not provided so all towels, tea-towels and bed linen must be brought with you. We have made every effort to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday in one of our pretty cottages in this peaceful hamlet. Location The surrounding woodlands and meadows are ideal for leisurely strolls. Close by is a scenic golf-course and the Nantes-Brest canal has miles of tow-path for walking and cycling. Pontivy is only ten minutes away by car. It has a delightful atmosphere with excellent shops, restaurants and pavement cafes, a chateau and wonderful architecture. There is a delightful open-air swimming pool on the outskirts of the town. Many local towns and villages have markets and these are particularly colourful and interesting in the summer months. Slightly further afield is the magnificent Lake Guerledan, set amid deep forest and perfect for swimming and sailing. The town of Vannes is a lively place with plenty to see and close to beaches. Lorient hosts the annual Inter-Celtic festival a spectacular event of music and dance. Boats go from Lorient to the Ile de Groix. There are plenty of beaches to choose from within an hour’s drive. The whole area is steeped in history and there are pre-historic alignments of standing stones in many locations but the Carnac stones are world-famous and shouldn’t be missed. Whatever you like to do on holiday, from nothing to strenuous activity, Brittany meets everyone’s needs! LOCATION MAP
